Monterrey is a city surrounded by mountains, but very recently we’ve stumbled upon a big problem with pollution. There’s the environmental issue of deep layers of pollution obstructing beautiful scenes viewed from the mountains, which negatively affects people’s sentiment of nostalgia or even tranquility when enjoying the sight. And, when hiking, the achievement of looking at a cloudless and pure dawn or sunset might not be considered as much due to the environmental problematic Monterrey faces.
