Disposable masks have been “flying” from the supermarkets and pharmacies’ shelfves because of their more practical nature when compared with reusable masks since they are an equipament meant for a single use, meant to be used and disposed of, instead of being washed and reused. But these used disposable masks frequently used, also “fly” to public spaces’ floors, meaning they are potential hazard to our health as well as a real menace to the environment and other living beings. Since the beggining of the COVID-19 Pandemic this is one of most found items in beaches and oceans.
